CHILDCARE SERVICES: THE ORGANIZATION WAS CREATED AS A DIRECT RESPONSE TO AN URGENT COMMUNITY NEED FOR AFFORDABLE, QUALITY CHILDCARE. THE CENTER IS LICENSED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE FOR 110 CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 2 MONTHS AND 6 YEARS. ALTHOUGH PRIVATE TUITION IS AVAILABLE, THE ORGANIZATION WORKS CLOSELY WITH THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS TO OFFER SUBSIDIZED CHILDCARE, ALLOWING PARENTS AND GUARDIANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEEK EMPLOYMENT, MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT AND FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION. JOI PROUDLY ACHIEVED ACCREDITATION THROUGH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN (NAEYC) IN JUNE 2014, AND THEY STRIVE TO ENSURE THAT THE CENTER MAINTAINS THE NAEYC STANDARDS OF QUALITY. DURING A DAY AT JOI A CHILD HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE IN MANY ACTIVITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ART, MUSIC, MATH, DRAMATIC PLAY, MOVEMENT, SCIENCE AND NUTRITION. THE CURRICULUM IS BASED ON A PROCESS NOT PRODUCT THEORY WHILE INCLUDING THE DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS OF EACH CHILD. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES A WIDE VARIETY OF APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCES WHICH FOSTER A CHILD'S SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, INTELLECTUAL, AND PHYSICAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. THE CENTER PROVIDES MEALS TO ALL CHILDREN AT NO COST TO THE PARENTS INCLUDING BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND SNACK. JOI RECOGNIZES THAT ALTHOUGH A CHILD MAY SPEND MANY HOURS AT THE CENTER, MANY OTHER THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN A CHILD'S LIFE THAT CAN IMPACT THEIR DEVELOPMENT. THE CENTER WORKS CLOSELY WITH EACH FAMILY TO ENSURE EACH CHILD RECEIVES A HIGH QUALITY STANDARD OF CARE, LOVE AND SUPPORT. MAINTAINING AN OPEN, TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE CENTER AND FAMILIES IS THE KEY TO CREATING MEANINGFUL LASTING PARTNERSHIPS THAT FOSTER EACH CHILD'S GROWTH AS THEY DEVELOP INTO CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF SOCIETY.
