Community Bike Works teaches life lessons through bicycles to the young people of Allentown and the Lehigh Valley who could benefit most.

Earn a bike: In our flagship program, students 9 and older team up with adult mentors for a 12-week course on bike mechanics and safety. While working on their bikes, students also learn communication, teamwork, perseverance, and other life skills. Junior earn a bike teaches similar lessons to younger students. Upon completing their courses, students earn their refurbished bike and a new helmet! In 2017-18, 505 boys and girls participated in our bike mentoring programs; 90% earned their bikes. Of students at a United Way school who participated in earn a bike, 87% improved their school attendance.
