Workforce Institute's workforce development training programs include the nationally-recognized Strive job-readiness program, as well as customized job training and industry-recognized job training. WFICollaborates with area employers in high-growth industries to ensure that their curricula match employers' needs. WFI places participants in internships and in jobs, with a 90% success rate. Customized job training prepares participants for jobs in the food and service industries, as well as in allied health. WFI's array of programs serves older youth, particularly juvenile-justice-involved youth, and many participants who have struggled with substance abuse issues. WFI's success lies in its supportive services which help students overcome barriers to completing the programs and to employment. Beginning on February 1, 2019, the workforce development training programs started to transition to PHMC. The transition of all workforce development training programs was completed by July 1, 2019.
