A FOCUS ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT:PLEASE SEE SCHEDULE O FOR THE PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENT EXPLANATION.YOUTH DEVELOPMENT - NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF YOUTH BY PROVIDING THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES CHILDREN NEED TO SUCCEED IN LIFE THROUGH A FOCUS ON CLOSING THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP BETWEEN DISADVANTAGED YOUTH AND THEIR MORE AFFLUENT COUNTERPARTS, HELPING CHILDREN ESTABLISH HEALTHY LIFESTYLE HABITS, BUILD CHARACTER AND SELF-CONFIDENCE AND LEARN HOW TO INTERACT WITH OTHERS.THE LANCASTER FAMILY YMCA SUPPORTED 1,319 CHILDREN IN EARLY LEARNING PROGRAMS, SUMMER CAMPS AND SUMMER LEARNING LOSS PREVENTION PROGRAMS IN 2018.- 75 CHILDREN WERE SERVED THROUGH OUR EARLY LEARNING PROGRAMS, WITH 69 OF THE CHILDREN RECEIVING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.- 239 CHILDREN ATTENDED YMCA SUMMER LEARNING LOSS PREVENTION PROGRAMS OFFERED AT NO COST TO THE FAMILIES.- 1,245 YOUTH ATTENDED OUR DAY AND OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMPS IN 2018. 60% OF CAMPERS ATTENDING YMCA CAMP SHAND RECEIVED $98,840 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE LANCASTER FAMILY YMCA TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND CAMP.IN 2018, 2572 CHILDREN WERE INVOLVED IN LANCASTER FAMILY YMCA YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS AND YOUTH AQUATICS PROGRAMS. - 878 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN YMCA SWIM LESSONS - 363 CHILDREN WERE TAUGHT LIFE-SAVING SWIMMING AND WATER SAFETY SKILLS IN YMCA SAFETY AROUND WATER CLASSES OFFERED AT NO COST TO THE FAMILIES.- 487 YOUTH PARTICIPATED ON YMCA SWIM TEAMS.- 844 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN YMCA YOUTH ATHLETIC AND FITNESS PROGRAMS.
