The James A. Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center offers an 80-bed skilled nursing center and assisted living in 67 apartments located in Troy, New York. The skilled nursing center provides therapy, dental, optometry, podiatry, social work counseling, housekeeping and personal laundry, religious services, family support groups, and various activities both on and off site. The assisted living units provide help with the activities of daily living, as well as health related services to their residents. The center also offers a special 40-bed unit designed for residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia. Adult day services are offered and provide a full range of health and social services to help older adults with physical, emotional, or mental impairments, or who require supervision and/or medical care. Services enable older adults to remain independent for as long as possible, while allowing caregivers relief from the responsibilities of at-home caregiving so they can fulfill work or other obligations.
