The mission of the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association is to increase access to justice by delivering high quality pro bono civil legal services to eligible clients in the Greater Boston area.

Legal aid programs: In 2019 Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) worked with pro bono attorneys to serve low income clients with a wide range of civil legal problems, including housing, eviction, foreclosure, child support, bankruptcy, wills, guardianship, unpaid wages, and unemployment benefits. In 2019, Volunteer Lawyers Project served approximately 12,506 clients. Participating attorneys donated approximately 12,965 pro bono hours which VLP conservatively values at $4,537,750.
