About

GGP has worked to build sustainable artisan enterprises throughout Asia, Africa and the Americas so that more and more women can earn reliable incomes and break the cycle of poverty. In 2016 GGP purchased more than $390,000 of products from our artisan partners, all of whom provide fair living wages to the women who handcraft the products that GGP sells. This amount translated to more than $7,660,000 in local purchasing power in the communities where we work. Last year in Nepal, GGPs investment of $25,000 translated into more than $581,000 in local purchasing power and in Peru, where the cost of living is significantly higher, $25,000 translated into $113,000 of purchasing power. Beyond the value we bring through direct spending in local communities, GGP invests in training our partners to produce products that appeal to consumers in developed markets.
