About

Superfund Liaison and Communication: Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group was founded in 2001 in response to the Environmental Protection Agencys designation of the Duwamish Waterway as a Superfund site. DRCC/TAG serves as liaison between the EPA, Responsible Parties and other industry, and community members. We ensure that communication between affected parties/impacted communities is transparent and accessible. We serve as the Communitys representative on the EPAs Roundtable which is working on the next phase of River cleanup. DRCC/TAG is helping organize the EPA Roundtable and actively supporting participation by community members so that the cleanup planning for the Superfund site is highly inclusive of community needs and desires. We offer a strong educational component via boat tours, river festivals and non- traditional engagement strategies (living room forums, promotores model, local school education) to teach about superfund and environmental justice issues.
