About this organization
Mission
One Equal Heart collaborates with indigenous leaders in Mexico to honor and nurture sustainable agriculture, equitable communities and traditional knowledge.
About
Advancing Human Rights: In 2018, after two years of intensively training human rights promoters as part of the pilot phase of DEFEMI (The Advocacy Project for Women and Children), our partners started the implementation of the MILPA project (Indigenous Women for Leadership, Participation and Action). MILPA responds comprehensively to the problem of violence against women and children by training and empowering indigenous women as leaders, healers and advocates within their communities. By making women more visible, more represented in leadership positions and more connected to one another, this project strengths their collective voice and positions them to advocate against violence and build a culture of respect for human rights.
