THE ROOSEVELT CENTER IS OUR LARGEST CAPITAL PROJECT. IN 2018 THE CENTER HOSTED MANY COMMUNITY EVENTS, INCLUDING PLAYS, MUSICAL PERFORMANCES AND ART SHOWS. WE ARE WORKING TO TRANSFORM THE OUTDOOR SPACE INTO A COMMUNITY GREEN SPACE FEATURING WALKWAYS, BENCHES AND AREAS FOR GROUPS TO GATHER, SCULPTURES, LANDSCAPING WITH NATIVE PLANTS. IT WILL BE A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE CAN MEET THEIR FRIENDS, ENJOY A PICNIC, LEARN ABOUT OUR AREA, OR JUST SIT AND BREATH IN THE MOUNTAIN AIR. IN 2018, THERE WERE 108 DAYS OF USAGE BY 42 DIFFERENT GROUPS. THERE ARE 11 LONG TERM TENANTS. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED 760 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO IMPROVE THE BUILDING. A NEW HEATING SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED ON THE 1920'S SIDE OF THE BUILDING. PARTNERED WITH THE CARBON COUNTY ARTS GUILD TO PROVIDE A SATELLITE GALLERY. THE RED LODGE AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ACTS AS A FISCAL SPONSOR FOR SMALL, GRASS ROOTS, COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACTIVITIES. THESE SMALL ORGANIZATIONS ARE ABLE TO CARRY OUT THEIR COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACTIVITIES WITHOUT THE NEED TO ORGANIZE INDEPENDENTLY, AS THEIR ACTIVITIES CLOSELY ALIGN WITH THE FOUNDATIONS BYLAWS OF CHARITABLE PURPOSE. ONE OF OUR NEW FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS CAME TOGETHER QUICKLY, WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE CLOSURE OF THE ONLY RECYCLING CENTER, WHICH EMPLOYS PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. IN 2018, THE COMMUNITY BENEFITS PROVIDED BY THESE ACTIVITIES WERE THE FOLLOWING:
