4,500 volunteer hours contributed to significant program accomplishments during the current fiscal year. MCFEG had 12 active in-stream and floodplain restoration projects. The restoration included the addition of 3,681 logs and 2,600 trees planted. Fish passage work included the removal of 120 rick dams and an inventory of passage barriers. As part of the habitat protection there was 3.500 pounds of garbage removed from streams and floodplains, 148 acres protected from invasive weeds and fences installed to protect headwaters, streams, and plantings. As part of our mission we educate our communities about protecting and restoring natural habitats. The education programs included outdoor experiences for 2,600 students from over 20 schools, 126 classroom presentations, and 8 internships.
