Girls on the Run is a non-profit, community-based prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Our curricula address all aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being. GOTR of Northeast Florida creates life-changing experiences for all girls ages 8-11 by combining training for a 5K run with important life lessons that encourage healthy habits, self-esteem, positive thinking and an active lifestyle. The result is an awesome way of life for a new generation of girls! Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c3 organization whose mission is to "educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living."

GOTR NEFL continues to see growth year over year; Each semester the girls run in a 5K race put on with the help from community volunteers and hundreds of manhours. On event day, each girl is rewarded for her effort in meeting her goals. In addition, the organization continues to provide financial assistance for hundreds of girls who otherwise would not be able to participate in the program. For the period covered by this return, 794 (49.6%) girls who participated received financial assistance.
