The Community Foundation for South Central New York offers caring individuals an effective way to endow their community in a manner that is responsible, responsive and lasting. The foundation works to cultivate philanthropy throughout the region by providing a variety of charitable fund options -- among them donor advised funds, scholarship funds, field-of-interest funds, designated funds, and a general unrestricted fund (the Community Fund) -- through which donors can target their giving to address community needs in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga counties. From this variety of funds, grants are then issued to area nonprofits working to address these needs.
