Mission

The primary purpose of the SWIWC is to enhance and develop leadership and advocacy skills of American Indian women and domestic violence and sexual assault programs to work toward ending domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking against American Indian women in Arizona. The secondary purpose of the SWIWC is to provide domestic violence and sexual assault training, technical assistance, resource awareness and outreach to American Indian women and domestic violence and sexual assault programs.

Staff attended the 15th Annual Men and Women's Gathering participated in the NCAI VAWA Task Force Meeting and TLOA. 4. Tribal Coalition Institutes attended Tribal Coalition Institutes throughout the year to stay abreast of DV/SA issues, events, needs across Indian Country. 5. Council of Women Meetings conducted three in person board meetings. 6. Mass Information Distribution regularly sent blast e-mails to SWIWC membership and others regarding DV/SA news, events, discussions, meetings, and other pertinent information.
