Group supported employment program (Meriden) - Individuals with intellectual disabilities perform actual paid work as part of a work crew supported by a job coach for the duration of their work shift within businesses or organizations in the community. Program participants are supported to learn job skills, team collaboration and appropriate social skills for the workplace. Independent supported employment programs (Meriden) - Individuals with intellectual disabilities receive support and assistance to obtain and maintain competitive community-based employment, and earning a minimum wage or better. Ongoing support is provided to the participant, as needed, and is also available to the employer. (See schedule O) Other program services: Other vocational and employment services are offered to individuals with disabilities in a number of locations and within the community. In addition to the agency's core vocational services (listed above), school-to-work transition services, community based work evaluations, job placement, and transportation services are provided.
