Mission

To humanely reduce the population of free-roaming cats in Rhode Island by advocating and practicing the proven trap, neuter, return, monitor (TNRM) protocol.

About

We provided TNRM assistance to RI residents related to free-roaming (feral, stray, abandoned) cats. In 2019, Pawswatch expended 226,404 in veterinary surgeries and medicines to sterilize, vaccinate and return to field 925 feral cats; sterilized and vaccinated another 318 cats living outside, socialized them and adopted them out; and provided life saving veterinary care to an additional 358 sick or injured free-roaming cats. In 2019, Pawswatch invested 62,759 to construct the first 'community cat center' (CCC) in New England to provide TNRM support services to the general public, and enable them to implement TNRM in their own neighborhoods. In its first six months of operation, the CCC processed 405 free-roaming cats with sterilization, vaccination and adoption services. This unique facility will be adding humane education and on-site veterinary services to better support our community in 2020.
