Founded in 1964, the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School's mission is to change lives through challenge and discovery. We use wilderness areas of Maine and Florida to deliver our world-renowned experiential learning programs focused on sailing, backpacking, paddling and climbing to students from all walks of life. We help show students of all ages there is more in them—more strength, more resilience and more compassion—than they ever thought possible. Our vision is to create a more resilient, more compassionate world through more resilient, compassionate people.
