San Diego Hospice Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) was organized in December 1986 as a nonprofit organization to carry fundraising activities on behalf of San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine (SDHIPM). On February 4, 2013, SDHIPM filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. On or about September 23, 2013, an order was entered confirming a plan of liquidation. The foundation continues to exist and now supports local nonprofit hospice services throughout San Diego County.
