Mission

SEE-LA’s mission is to build sustainable food systems and promote social and cultural activities that benefit both low-to-moderate income residents of Los Angeles while also supporting California small- and mid-sized farms and local small businesses

About

The six certified farmers' markets of SEE-LA are the hallmark of the organization and continue to serve the neighborhoods and communities they are firmly rooted in. All of our markets accept electronic benefit transfer (EBT, formerly called food stamps) cards, as well as Women Infants & Children (WIC) checks. All farmers markets (Atwater Village, Central Ave., Crenshaw, Echo Park, Hollywood, and MLK Campus) were part of the innovative Market Match program, wherein an EBT customer can receive ten additional dollars in market match for every $10 they spend with their EBT card, thereby doubling their buying power of fresh fruits and vegetables. These vital programs allow SEE-LA to provide a venue for fresh and local produce as an alternative to fast food or third rate chains.
