About

In 2017-18, Greenway Arts Alliance produced and co-produced three main stage shows, three student shows and a spoken word poetry festival. Greenway, located on the campus of Fairfax High School, which has an enrollment of 2000, continues its tuition-free arts education programming for Fairfax High School (FHS) students through Greenway Institute for the Arts (GIA). Through GIA, Greenway placed 8 artists in FHS classrooms for both in-class and after-school project-based instruction and mentorship in drama, literature, writing and gardening. GIA directly serves over 1100 students and indirectly over 2000 students currently enrolled at Fairfax High School. In 2017-2018, GIA had three main stage productions at Greenway Court Theater, several on-campus, and performances at Student Day at the Melrose Trading Post. There was also one off-campus performance for the West Hollywood Kids Fair in Plummer Park.Greenway also operates the Melrose Trading Post, a weekly social enterprise program that brings thousands of community members on to the high school for antiques and collectibles, music, art and food.
