About this organization
Mission
Ours is a remarkable story of how two service providers from very different backgrounds--the West Hollywood gay community and the Catholic Archdiocese--found common ground to combine their goals and programs. Our strong belief that "Health Happens with Housing” is embodied in our mission to "provide essential housing and supportive services to people living in poverty with HIV/AIDS or other challenging health conditions.” Our priority is in strengthening the safety net in Los Angeles County (LAC) for people caught in the downward spiral of chronic disease, hunger and homelessness. Our impact is in reducing HIV viral load to undetectable, which makes the transmission of HIV negligible—or even, as current research demonstrates—non-existent. Our goal is an HIV-free generation.
About
Permanent supportive housing in 148 master-leased, furnished rental units scattered throughout Los Angeles County. The program provides subsidized housing with in-home support for homeless, multi-diagnosed persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families. During the year, care was provided to 141 clients, and 70 family members for a total of 211 persons.
