About this organization
Mission
To preserve and promote the historically significant first estate of Beverly Hills for the education and enjoyment of the general public.
About
Restoration - the organization raises money for the restoration and maintenance of the Virginia Robinson Gardens Estate. The most significant project this year was the Sunny Glade Restoration. Near the center of the two-acre King Palm Forest, an area was completely renovated to provide a colorful meadow to counter the grey-white trunks of the King Palm trees. The area is used as a stopping place for instruction during the children's science program and for small events. Many bird species are attracted as well. The Friends' fundraising efforts also provided the needed funds for restoring and repainting the library in the historic house, adding additional lighting and two new sofas in the billiard room of the pool pavilion, trimming the many trees on the estate, and purchasing a cabana to provide more shaded areas during fundraising events.
