The Disability Rights Legal Center ('DRLC') program includes the Community Advocacy Program ('CAP') and litigation. CAP provides intake services as well as educational outreach to the disabilities community. Litigation represents individuals and classes in non-criminal matters to establish legal principles, benefit people with disabilities, and raise public awareness of the disability rights at issue and the organization's commitment to the enforcement of those rights. CAP also provided individual assistance in the form of brief services, referrals, and information to 1,005 clients in 2018. CAP intakes and community presentations and seminars are assisted by law-student interns throughout the year. CAP provides training and supervision to students to learn valuable interviewing skills, public speaking and presentation skills, and important community service.
