Mission
Now known as Children Rising! Our mission is to nurture and equip vulnerable children to rise above the challenges created by generations of poverty, violence, and educational inequity. We empower children attending public schools most affected by poverty, violence, and educational inequity by raising awareness and rallying community support for their needs; and by galvanizing and guiding volunteers to teach, mentor, and nourish the children so they may develop academic and life skills to realize their God-given potential.

Succeeding by Reading - The Succeeding by Reading Intervention Program is designed to open up the world of reading to elementary school children who are the farthest behind their expected grade level proficiency. Succeeding by Reading provides one-on-one tutoring by trained volunteers, school library support, and at-home support through take-home book bags.
