About this organization
Mission
To inspire learning through creative play and discovery.
About
This year our teen board completed the science lab renovation, and we now have a jungle-themed science room complete with new paint, a large paper tree with branches and vines that climb the walls and ceiling, a waterfall, and new informational posters and books. Our leopard frogs continue to be popular, and we have added busy harvester ants that are fascinating to watch. Guests have made lots of positive comments about the room, and are enjoying the renewed space. Our teen board will continue to be involved by posting fun facts and information on our science board. This year we had 26,244 visitors to the museum and our offsite programs. We had a total of 600 attendees to our Science Festival. We provided free bus service to 530 children and families, 700 children and families received scholarships for admission and camps, and 624 underserved children were reached by the museum's community outreach programs. We served 3,000 participants through our learning experiences in science, literacy, and early education. These programs are conducted in the museum, the schools, and select neighborhoods.
