The mission of PINC is to provide education, service, and research in contemporary psychoanalysis. As an interdisciplinary center for creative psychoanalytic thought, we are committed to creating an atmosphere of intellectual excitement and mutual respect.

Since 2004 PINC had been a Provisional Society of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA); PINC became a component society in July of 2009.
