NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO GROW IN FY 2019 SOME OF OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED OPENING NATIVE HEALTH MESA'S MEDICAL CLINIC AND ALSO ADDED PEDIATRIC SERVICES. NATIVE HEALTH HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PROVIDING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES, WIC, COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION. THE EAST VALLEY COMMUNITY WAS EXCITEDLY WAITING FOR THE MEDICAL CLINIC OPENING WHICH BECAME A REALITY. ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY ALSO BEGAN TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION AND EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (SNAE&T) TO INDIVIDUALS COMING TO NATIVE HEALTH MESA. NHW COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER CELEBRATED ITS TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY. WHAT BEGAN AS PROVIDING MEDICAL SERVICES GREW INT THE PAST TEN YEARS TO EXPAND TO PEDIATRIC SERVICES, DENTAL, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND A WIC PROGRAM. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY AND BEGAN DEVELOPING PROGRAMS TO FIT THE COMMUNITY'S NEEDS AND WANTS. NATIVE HEALTH BEGAN TALKING CIRCLES AT NATIVE HEALTH CENTRAL AND AT SAN LUCY WHICH IS ON THE TOHONO O'ODHAM RESERVATION. YOUTH PROGRAMS WERE ALSO HIGHLIGHTED IN FY 2019. NATIVE HEALTH HOSTED ANOTHER HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL DIABETES PREVENTION CAMP AND HELD ITS FIRST ANNUAL YOUTHFEST PROMOTING ADOLESCENT AND YOUNG ADULT MENTAL HEALTH AND SUICIDE PREVENTION WITH A CULTURAL FOCUS. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO BE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED FOR ADDRESSING FOOD INSECURITY. THROUGH VARIOUS PROGRAMS, FUNDERS AND INNOVATION, NATIVE HEALTH PROVIDES THOUSANDS OF MEALS EACH YEAR FOR HUNGRY INDIVIDUALS. NATIVE HEALTH WAS ALSO NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED FOR ADDRESSING ENABLING SERVICES. NATIVE HEALTH ENTERED INTO A PARTNERSHIP WITH UNITEDHEALTHCARE TO PROVIDE A HOUSING INTERN TO CREATE AN UP-TO-DATE HOUSING DIRECTORY WITH A FOCUS ON LOW INCOME HOUSING. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO OUTREACH TO THE COMMUNITY AND OFFERED MANY FREE AND ENGAGING CULTURAL PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDED MOCCASIN CLASSES, ELK DRUM MAKING, PAINTING, BEADING, AND OTHER CLASSES WITH HUNDREDS OF ATTENDEES. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUED TO ATTEND ALL NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY EVENTS INCLUDING POW WOWS, NARD EVENTS, NATIVE AMERICAN PARENT PROGRAMS THROUGH AREA SCHOOLS AND MORE.
