Our mission is to provide vital resources, while providing training and education, to sustainably improve the health and wellness of people in the impoverished regions of Western Guatemala and Southern Mexico.

About

The Hospital de la Familia Foundation supports a hospital, as well as educational and wellness programs in rural Guatemala, serving approximately 20,000 low-income patients per year. HDLFF coordinates 4 to 6 yearly medical missions to the hospital.Our 2017 accomplishments included: A grant total of $342,163 to support the programs of the Hospital de la Familia in Guatemala,coordination of 6 all-specialties medical team missions and 1 eye-only team mission, 12,708 medical consultations by Guatemalan and U.S. doctors, 1313 patients seen in clinics by our medical teams, 4349 eye consultations & 769 eye surgeries by Guatemalan ophthalmologist, 1691 eye consultations & 534 eye surgeries by U.S. eye teams, 560 surgeries by our U.S. medical teams (General, Gynecology, Plastic, ENT, Eyes), 42 children given nutrition therapy and medical attention in the Nutrition Center, 157 children grades 1-6 enrolled in the Colegio San Jose, 18 women were enrolled in Sewing School, 16 students enrolled in Nursing Assistant School program.
