About this organization
Mission
Excellent eye care for all regardless of ability to pay.
About
We are saving and restoring sight to people who do not have access to vision care. We do this through our support of the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) ophthalmology residency program, our partnership with the Lions Eye Foundation Clinic to provide free care to unserved communities and our work with federally qualified community health centers. PVF provides support for the CPMC ophthalmology residency program, including support for the program director, reimbursement of educational expenses of volunteer faculty members, visiting professor lecture series and the retina fellowship program. PVF also provides support for the department chair and section chiefs of neuro-ophthalmology, pathology, and low vision rehabilitation. The ophthalmology residents and faculty members treat low income and uninsured patients for no charge at the CPMC Lions Clinic. Research support includes pre-residency research fellowships, the annual Barkan Scientific Symposium and other research grants.
