About

CounselingPPSC served a number of clients through our counseling programs. Over 33 individuals received services through our sliding scale. 900 other community members accessed services through contracts for services, that included MediCal, Beacon (ACA), juvenile probation, including Functional Family Therapy where PPSC was the lead contractor with Sonoma County Probation and Social Advocates for Youth was our partner. We also opened a Transitional Age Youth Center for young people ages 14-24 to access services including access to food, peer to peer counseling (led by PPSC staff) and technology training. PPSC was also part of the FEMA Crises Counseling Program, led by Sonoma County Behavior Health, our team was part of county-wide effort to provide support to any Sonoma County residents impacted by the fires in 2018. This program locally as California HOPE, June 30, 2019. California HOPE began immediately following the Sonoma Complex Fires to provide counseling services and emotional support to the community. The program was funded through a $4.3 million grant from FEMA, and an additional $1 million grant from Kaiser Permanente. California HOPE has provided over 70,000 services and counseling sessions to community members.
