The Women's Building is a women-led community space that advocates self-determination, gender equality and social justice. We remain committed to this mission because, despite many social and political advances for women and girls, we know that women still face unique social, personal and political barriers as they strive to lead safe, healthy, economically secure, creative and joyous lives. Thus, we welcome all women and girls to this vibrant community center.

About

The San Francisco Women's Centers also known as The Women's Building TWB is an enrichment hub offering a community focused on support, progress and strength. Our programs include partnering with organizations to strengthen our core mission of women's empowerment, community events and activities for social and cultural engagement, as well as the programs from our Community Resource Room (CRR) which advocates for women's rights. Partnering for Empowerment. Our In-House Organizations include resources for: 1.Women experiencing violence (San Francisco Women Against Rape and Cooperative Restraining Order Clinic) 2.Parents with school age children (Parents for Public Schools, San Francisco) 3.Girls' empowerment through outdoor activities (GirlVentures and Girls on the Run) 4.Early childhood education (Mission Neighborhood Head Start Center) 5.Immigrant education and activism for Latinas (Mujeres Unidas y Activas) 6. Immigrants' affordable legal services (Immigration Center for Women and Children). The Women's Building has partnerships with the following organizations: San Francisco Family Support Network, Computer Technology Network, University of San Francisco, Swords to Plowshares, Simply the Basics, Blossom, San Francisco Digital Equity office, San Francisco and Marin Food Banks and Onlok Lifeways. We also, as part of our advocacy work, collaborate with Plaza 16 Coalition to strengthen the anti-displacement movement in the Mission District of San Francisco. Community Events and Activities. The Women's Building provides no or low cost wellness classes, yoga, meditation and Feldenkrais. We welcome families with affordable and versatile spaces so that they can celebrate their culture and family milestones. These events range from same-sex weddings to Quinceanera celebrations. We also provide affordable meeting spaces to non-profit organizations and community groups for workshops, classes and fundraising events. In 17-18 we had over 2,800 reservations!
