About this organization
Mission
To provide safe, temporary housing and life-skills support to help homeless families return to self-sufficiency.
About
St. Francis Shelter has provided temporary housing for homeless families with children in Marion County and Polk County, Oregon since 1987. St. Francis Shelter's purpose is to move families from the crisis of homelessness into stable, safe and long-term housing. In fiscal year 2018-19, St. Francis Shelter served 35 families including 44 adults and 56 children. Of the 35 families served during the year, 32 have moved into and remain in safe, permanent housing. During the 2018-19 fiscal year, St. Francis Shelter maintained its program capacity to serve a total of sixteen families in shelter units to better serve the needs of families in our community. A portion of St. Francis Shelters apartment units are set aside as low-income rentals. This provides the opportunity for some shelter clients to transition to self-support, provides much needed affordable housing to people on limited incomes, and provides rental income for shelter operations.
