PassinArt: A Theatre Company is an African American producing theater company whose mission is to entertain, educate and inspire artists and audiences while addressing critical issues facing our community.

About

PassinArt: A Theatre Company reached over 2,600 during our 2018-2019 through three (3) theatrical productions: Black Nativity by Langston Hughes; Hazardous Beauty by Bonnie Ratner (Fertile Ground), and The No Play by John Henry Redwood. Through targeted marketing, the company was able to increase its attendance by 20% and continued its goal of increasing visibility in the general community. Other special cultural events were Juneteenth and Sweet Taste of the Arts, honoring local artists or advocates that have impacted the cultural landscape in Oregon. Passinart increased corporate sponsorships and individual donations and also secured additional funding to strengthen its ability to plan and expand its programming. PassinArt sponsored two Board of Directors attendance at a seven-month Art of Leadership Program which focused on fund development and fundraising. Staff and board member also attended the National Black Theatre Festival to identify potential directors, plays, artists and connect with other Black theatre administrators.
