Mission

Quadriplegics United Against Dependency Inc. provides affordable, barrier-free housing and resident-directed shared attendant care for low income, severely physically disabled adults. Different than a nursing center, QUAD Inc. offers personal choice and encourages self reliance and self sufficiency for those who rely on a wheelchair. Five buildings throughout metro Portland serve 125 residents. Most residents move from rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, adult foster care or from family homes into QUAD Inc. apartments. For most, these apartment facilities offer the first opportunity to live in their own homes, make lifestyle choices for themselves in their daily routines, work or volunteer in the community and pursue education.
