About this organization
Mission
Strengthening the human-animal bond by advocating and compassionately caring for animals.
About
Animal care and adoptions: For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, the Humane Society of Central Oregon cared for 3,544 animals. As the area's only open admission shelter, we take in surrendered and stray animals from the tri-county area and beyond. We also worked with local and interstate agencies to transfer in 293 animals and place them in adoptive homes. We were able to place 91.5% of the animals that came through our shelter. We calculate this number on the Asilomar based live release rate calculations.
