PROGRAMS INCLUDE HEAD START, EARLY HEAD START, PRESCHOOL PROMISE, PENINSULA CHILDREN'S LEARNING CENTER, AND AN INNOVATIVE MULTICULTURAL PARENTING PROGRAM. ADDITIONALLY, THE CHILD CARE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WORKS WITH IN-HOME CHILD CARE PROVIDERS TO INCREASE THE QUALITY OF CARE OFFERED BY CARE GIVERS, WHO PRIMARILY SERVE LOW-INCOME WORKING FAMILIES.EARLY CHILDHOOD HIGHLIGHTS: - 1,680 CHILDREN AGES 05 RECEIVED HIGH-QUALITY CARE AND EARLY LEARNING SERVICES.- OUR HEAD START PROGRAM SERVED CHILDREN SPEAKING 23 DIFFERENT HOME LANGUAGES.- AT PENINSULA CHILDREN'S LEARNING CENTER, 91% OF CHILDREN DEMONSTRATED IMPROVED, AGE-APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT IN SOCIO-EMOTIONAL SKILLS, COGNITIVE SKILLS, EARLY LITERACY, AND MATH.- AT PENINSULA CHILDREN'S LEARNING CENTER, 48 CHILDREN RECEIVED $100,831 IN SCHOLARSHIPS, ENABLING THEIR PARENTS TO CONTINUE WORKING.
