Mission

South Peninsula Haven House supports and empowers individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse by advocating for justice and providing safe shelter, crisis intervention, prevention, and victim advocacy.

About

Child Advocacy Center - SPHH operates two child advocacy centers on the Kenai Peninsula; with one office located in Homer, and one located in Kenai. Through these programs, we provide a coordinated, child-friendly response to children and families impacted by child abuse. In each community and on the entire peninsula, Haven House coordinates and participates on the local child abuse response teams, consisting of law enforcement, mental health providers, office of children's services, district attorney's office, and the child advocacy center. This coordinated approach serves to minimize trauma to victims and promotes more successful outcomes in court. The child care food program is a federal program that reimburses local childcare providers across the Kenai Peninsula for healthy food served to children. The program provides support, education, and oversight to healthy meal practices of participating childcare centers. It supports child care providers in education and outreach to promote the serving of nutritious and vitamin enriched meals.
