Mission

Sound Experience sails the historic schooner Adventuress to educate, inspire, and empower an inclusive community that works to improve our marine environment and celebrates our maritime heritage.

About

Youth Program Delivery The primary work of the schooner Adventuress is its on-the-water programs for children and teens from schools and youth groups throughout the Puget Sound region (and beyond). This year, some 1,297 youth participated in more than 10,014 hours of shipboard education on Salish Sea environmental stewardship, exploration of maritime career paths and maritime skills training. Partnerships with West Sound Technical Skills Center on the Kitsap Peninsula, Port of Seattle, and Tacoma Community Boat Buildings are working to ensure that young people from diverse backgrounds are getting the opportunity to explore maritime career opportunities under the guidance of experienced shipboard crew and educators.
