Jubilee's mission is to "to support women experiencing poverty to build stable and fulfilling futures, one extraordinary woman at a time." Led by the guiding principle that all women deserve respect and dignity, Jubilee is dedicated to providing extensive supportive services to help every woman make permanent life changes. We connect women with educational opportunities, services and support to help them achieve self-sufficiency.
About
Core Programs: In FY19, 62 women received our most intensive level of services that includes housing, case management, career planning and coaching, job readiness, computer skills, money management and access to our free clothing boutique and community meals. We were able to provide 187 class sessions for a total of 349 participants, 67 who are unduplicated. Our free clothing boutique provided clothing to 730 women and 55 women from the community used our computer lab. Through these services, combined with 875 referrals provided over the phone and in-person, Jubilee was able to serve nearly 2000 women in our community.In FY19 Jubilee focused on increasing the effectiveness of service to program participants through our Learning Opportunity Center, Matched Savings Program and the launch of our new Next Step Program at Martha's House.Learning Opportunity Center: In addition to our excellent Core Program Curriculum, the Learning Opportunity Center added interactive classes in nutrition, meditation, wellness, sewing and exercise.Matched Savings Program: 21 women enrolled in our donor funded 20-month Matched Savings Program in FY19. Participants save a minimum of $20, maximum of $100 a month in their own savings account. If the participant saves consistently for 20 months, she is eligible to receive a 2-1 match for her savings, for a maximum match of $4,000. Savings and match combined provide program graduates with up to $6,000 to use as first, last and security deposit to move into independent housing. This highly incentivized program for learning the habit of saving money, had a high level of resident participation in FY19, with the first program graduations slated for Q1 of FY20. Next Step Program at Martha's House: In March 2019 Jubilee completed renovations on Martha's House, purchased in FY18, and opened the Next Step Program serving women who have completed Jubilee's core 24-month program and are employed but still need affordable housing and support on their path to market rate housing. Participants pay affordable rent for a room in the house and receive program support including classes and career pathway support on their path to a living wage. Program participants may access other Jubilee services, including the free clothing boutique, classes, and community meals.
