About
Studio Coyote engages 1,500 youth ages 10 to 15 annually in year-round 20-hour courses with professional artists, filmmakers, chefs, furniture makers, fashion designers, music producers, animators, dancers, glass artists, jewelers, writers and more. Participants learn hands-on skills and draw on their personal and cultural identities to design their individual projects. Courses take place on weekends during the school year and weekdays over holiday breaks. Coyote also partners with local schools to provide enrichment during the school day. Studio Coyote engages youth of wildly different backgrounds in race, culture, economic status, family situation, and abilities in a culture of mutual respect and collaborative discovery. Over half of Studio Coyote enrollments every year are by youth who identify as people of color. Every course is offered on a pay-what-works-for-you basis, with no limits to the number of amount of tuition assistance per youth, family, or course.
