The Center for Wooden Boats promotes northwest maritime heritage through education, interpretation and hands-on experience in building, maintaining and using small craft.

Education and service: The Center for Wooden Boats provides access to the water, boating, and hands-on skills training, regardless of background and financial capacity. In 2018 over 14,500 young people learned something new through hands-on activities, such as field trips, toy boat building, sailing and boat building. CWB also trained 8 job skills students for entry into the work force and/or completion of high school/college. Over 6,595 people experienced public boat rides. CWB dispersed $13,661 in scholarship funds, assisting approximately 1,000 students.
