  • The teen outreach program connects youth and young adults ages 12 to 21 throughout tacoma and pierce county who are experiencing homelessness to academic, social, health, and community resources. the program youth from becoming self-reliant, self-sufficient, productive adults.also strives to remove barriers - either actual or perceived - that prevent youth from becoming self-reliant, self-sufficient, productive adults. this is accomplished utilizing an approach that emphasizes outreach, service engagement, advocacy, referral, and on-going case management.   • In the club program, school-age youth are led by adult volunteer teams who use national program materials to guide and mentor youth in small group settings. camp fire clubs help youth build self-esteem, learn life skills and become responsible, concerned citizens who are active in their communities. a total of 248 people were served in the club program during 2015.   • Outdoor program: appreciation of nature and environmental stewardships has been core to camp fire's foundation since its founding in 1910. we believe in the power of nature to awaken the senses and the disire to learn. day camps and resident camps introduce youth to vast outdoor settings offering daily adventures including outdoor cooking, exploration and group activities.
