We provide nourishing meals to those facing a health crisis while empowering the next generation.
About
Revive & Thrive Project was founded by nutritionist and cancer survivor Wendy Borden. After learning about the Ceres Community Project, Wendy made the heartfelt commitment to model the program in Grand Rapids. Revive & Thrive’s first nutritious meals were home-delivered to 12 individuals with cancer on May 15, 2015. Key elements of Revive & Thrive Project programs include: Supporting individuals and families dealing with a health crisis with low-cost, home- delivered meals, nutrition education, and nurturing support Involving young people as teen chefs and providing hands-on training to learn healthy eating, build confidence, job skills through experiential education Supporting and promoting local food systems Educating the broader community about the healthy eating and living Providing a multi-generational and multi-cultural program to connect people of all ages and from all walks of life to one another, and to their value as an integral part of the community
