One Columbia facilitated the completion of nine new pieces of public art in partnership with Columbia SC63 Civil Rights History Project, Richland County Library and the COMET bus system. The organization also launched a new directory of public art. We provided support for events like Indie Grits, Parking Day, ArtLinc Chalk Arts Festival, the Urban History Conference, the Creative Placemaking Conference and the NCAA basketball tournament. We also carried out public projects with the City of Columbia Poet Laureate and contributed to the publishing of Columbias free literary journal Fall Lines. The most significant work by One Columbia was through the partnership with the CIty of Columbia to research and develop a comprehensive cultural plan known as Amplify. The development process included holding over 106 individual meetings in 72 different locations accross the city engaging with over 1150 citizens to determine priorities for the arts and thecultural community of Columbia. We continued to advise city and community leaders in regard to the role of art and culture activities.
