Training - WCR recruits athletes and trains them in the skills required for roller derby. WCR sponsors a beginner team that seeks to introduce newly recruited skaters to the sport. This consists of a four month training program. WCR provides coaching, equipment, and facilities to develop athletes into competitive skaters. WCR holds organized practices 5-7 times per week for a period of 2-6 hours each time for the competitive skaters. In addition, WCR and its teams sponsor cross-training programs (yoga, swimming, and outdoor boot camps) to prepare for the rigorous season.
