THE GOOD WE ARE DOING AT FAMILY LITERACY CENTERS, INC.: DEVELOPING FREE MATERIALS FOR DOWNLOAD ON OUR WEB SITE: FAMILY READERS, ADULT FAMILY READERS, YELLOW CROCODILE SERIES, TEACHERS GUIDES, AND AN ALGEBRA I SERIES. WE HAVE DONATED LEXIA LICENSES TO 253 STUDENTS AT 175 EACH WE HAVE DONATED 325 DISCOUNTED ORDERS OF LEXIA FOR FAMILIES THAT COULDN'T AFFORD IT 250 MORE LEXIA LICENSES WERE DONATED/DISCOUNTED BUT ARE "HOUSED" ON THE SCHOOL SIDE, WE ALSO SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING BRICK AND MORTAR LITERACY CENTERS THAT WE HELPED CREATE: NEW CENTER IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA; SOUTHERN FLORIDA LIBRARY FLC; LAS VEGAS RELEASED PRISONER PROGRAM LEARNING CENTER; LAS VEGAS CHARTER SCHOOL FOR TROUBLED YOUTH (ALL STUDENTS WITH PROBATION OFFICERS;) SCHOOL IN GUINEA-BISSAU, AFRICA; LITERACY CENTER IN GRANTS PASS, OREGON; PLUS ALL OF THE 7TH-DAY ADVENTIST FLCS ALREADY IN PLACE IN DETROIT, PHILADELPHIA, PORTLAND, SAN FRANCISCO, RALEIGH, AND CHICAGO. SETS OF BOOKS WE HAVE DONATED TO INDIVIDUALS AND CENTERS: 40 SET

About

WE HELP PARENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES INCREASE THEIR READING AND MATH SKILLS THROUGH THE USE OF MATERIALS AVAILABLE ON-LINE AND WITH VOLUNTEER TUTORS AVAILABLE IN BRICK AND MORTAR CENTERS AS WELL AS WITH PARENTS IN THE HOME. WE ALSO DEVELOP VIDEOS AND OTHER TRAINING MATERIALS TO HELP PARENTS TEACH CHILDREN HOW TO READ, WRITE, AND BECOME SUCCESSFUL IN MATHEMATICS. IN ADDITION WE HELP COMMUNITIES SET UP THEIR OWN CENTERS AND PROVIDE TRAINING AND SUPPORT FOR THEM AS THEY BECOME SUCCESSFUL IN HELPING THE CENTERS TO PRODUCE INDEPENDENT LEARNERS.
