The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Tucson dba The Free Loan at the Jewish Federation is a non-profit corporation that has served the interest and needs of people of all faiths in our community since 1947. The Free Loan at the Jewish Federation has become a lifeline for those facing financial challenges in our community. The Free Loan is a dream of the future whose roots reach deep into the past. The ideals we follow are from the Torah, in the book of Exodus 'If you lend money to my people, even to the poor among you, do not act towards them as a creditor: you shall not charge them interest.' We believe helping people become self-sufficient is the highest form of charity. Through donations, we are transforming lives by loaning, being repaid, then by recycling loan dollars again and again, allowing us the ability to help an unlimited number of people in a time of need. Within the many social service programs available, we are the only organization that will lend money interest free to support self-sufficiency, respect and dignity. We empower people to build their own futures. We are proud to serve as a financial resource for those in need in our community.
