Mission

The mission of Old Pueblo Community Services is to support those in our community who are currently struggling with addiction, homelessness, and mental health concerns, by providing dignified supportive housing options, behavioral health counseling, employment coaching and peer support. We serve those often forgotten and under-served in our community, including homeless veterans, persons returning from incarceration, and those experiencing long term chronic homelessness. We envision a future in which all have the opportunity to reside in safe affordable housing and living meaningful, self-defined, dignified lives, as part of a healthy, inclusive community.

About

Veteran Recovery Communities Program: OPCS works with veterans that have served in the United States Armed Services including those with PTSD, substance abuse, mental illness, a criminal justice history, and those returning to the community after hospitalization, treatment, and/or combat. The program's goal is to end chronic homelessness among our veteran population. We provide them assistance while they move from street homelessness to permanent supportive housing. This includes housing, clinical treatments, necessity items, and other support services. We currently have six veteran communities which include 94 transitional housing beds. We served approximately 575 veterans during 2018 and over 70% of them achieved housing stability at exit. We operate this program in partnership with the Veterans Administration, the City of Tucson and other community partners. The program is funded entirely by government grants.
