YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION: THIS IS A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HELP YOUTH GAIN EMPLOYMENT IN BOTH THE PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR. IT PROVIDES CASE MANAGEMENT, GED BEST (BASIC EMPLOYMENT SKILLS TRAINING) AND DIRECT WORK EXPERIENCE. THE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND FAMILY DEVELOPMENT DIVISION PROVIDES EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SERVICES TO A MINIMUM OF 1,672 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES EVERY YEAR VIA HEAD START, EARLY HEAD START, NEW MEXICO PRE-K, NEW MEXICO CHILDREN YOUTH AND FAMILIES HOME VISITATION PROGRAMMING, THE CHILD ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM (CACFP) AND NEW MEXICO CHILDREN YOUTH AND FAMILIES CHILDCARE SUBSIDY PROGRAMMING. PROGRAMMING IS INCLUSIVE OF CENTER-BASED SERVICES, HOME BASED SERVICES, PREGNANT MOM SERVICES, AND WRAP AROUND SERVICES. ALL OF THE YDI EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND FAMILY DEVELOPMENT DIVISION PROGRAMMING MEET ALL HEAD START PERFORMANCE STANDARDS WITH EMPHASIS ON SCHOOL READINESS THROUGH THE UTILIZATION OF A RESEARCH- BASED CURRICULUM, DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SKILLS, FAMILY ENGAGEMENT, HEALTH, NUTRITION, MENTAL HEALTH, AND TRANSITION SERVICES IN CYFD LICENSED 5 STAR, NAEYC ACCREDITED FACILITIES.
