About
C.T. Pan started golf at the age of five at the National Garden Country Club where his mother worked. At 15, he became the youngest U.S. Amateur quarter-finalist since Bobby Jones. After that, C.T. Pan went to the United States to study in high school, entered the University of Washington, won eight NCAA individual championships, and became the record holder of the University of Washington men's high team wins. In 2014, he won the individual and team gold medals at the Incheon Asian Games. After graduating from University of Washington in 2015, he turned professional. The first game of his career was the US Open at Chambers Bay and he successfully made the cut. After C.T. Pan turned pro, he made his mark on the PGA Tour Canada Tour, winning his first career victory at The Players Cup in his fourth professional appearance. In September of the season, he won his second professional title at the Cape Breton Celtic Classic and qualified for the 2016 PGA Web.com Tour. In 2019, Pan became just the second Taiwanese golfer to win on the PGA Tour. He has represented Taiwan as an amateur on the 2006 Eisenhower Trophy team, and then again in the 2014 tournament. He won two gold medals in golf – one individually and one for team play – at the 2014 Asian Games.[3], represented Taiwan in the 2016 World Cup of Golf and played in the 2019 Presidents Cup for the international team. He won a bronze medal for Taiwan in the 2020 Olympics. The Houston Youth Clinic is an advanced Clinic designed to focus on strengthening Taiwanese youth golf skills in an effort to help them achieve success on a greater golf stage. The C.T. Pan Junior Championship ensures that top juniors from Taiwan have a chance to perform in front of NCAA college coaches at an AJGA Tournament serving as a key to open their world to additional golf opportunities. The Jerry Lu Scholarship is awarded to higher education students that are Taiwanese passport holders by helping them pursue education with financial assistance.
